WELCOME BACK TO HIGHWOOD HILLS New this school year: The Highwood Hills  Physical Education Department and Highwood Hills Recreation Center are involved in a nutrition and activity grant for the 2007-2008 school year.   The Rec-Check program is underway with 25 students going Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:40 to 6:00 pm.  This program is available to 1st grade through 6th grade.  Highwood Hills would like to welcome our new student teacher from Augsburg,

Mr. Thomas Doyle. He will be practice teaching during the months of March and April in physical education Highwood's physical education classes K-2 are learning basic movement skills of bowling, kicking, and batting. The 3rd-6th graders have completed their  fitness assessment and have been practicing their tennis skill during March. After spring break, the bowling unit will begin. FAMILY FUN NIGHT  is coming for Highwood Hills' 4th graders and their families who are involved in a special

grant through the district called the PEP Grant.  The 4th graders are taking fitness tests, a fitness knowledge test, an activity survey, a nutrition survey and a nutrition knowledge test.  On April 17th, a family fun night will be held in the Highwood Hills' Gymnasium from 5:30-6:15. At 6:15 the family night will move to the lunchroom for a cooking demonstration. The 4th graders will help in preparing the food and all 4th grade families are welcome taste test.
