Welcome to Mrs. Benedett's Third Grade. Room 2603 is the place to be this year. We welcome you to another wonderful year of friendships, learning, community, and fun! 2008-2009 will be a fantastic year of learning.

and our past history. We will learn how the United States has changed and how voters want it to change in the future. We will pay close attention to current events and the news. November elections. A huge thank you to Ms. Johnson from the League of Women's Voters. Ms. Johnson came to our class on October 3rd and taught us about voting. She brought a real voting booth. We registered as voters and cast a private ballot, like many of our parents will do on Nov. 4th. We had a  | | Learning about math by playing games. |
"mock" election. This caused us to ask many questions like...How old must we be to vote? How do we become a citizen if we weren't born in America? How do the votes get tallied? And many more. Wow! Voting is a great responsibility. Thanks to Ms. Johnson for her great lesson and instructions.
