On Jan. 29th we braved to cold to visit the St. Paul Winter Carnival

Welcome to third grade! I am delighted to be looping this year with my class from second grade. Ms. Parvi and I look forward to watching our children grow and become strong independent learners. Our class is very diverse with students from many different cultures who speak a variety of languages. Our classes' languages include English, Spanish, Somali, Hmong, French, Swahili and various African dialects.

Field Trips
The third graders have been very fortunate this year to have many out of school experiences.

We have gone to the Ordway Center for Performing Arts to see "Sofrit." A tale of Latin American story telling with music. We were all dancing in the aisles.

In December we went the Como Planetarium to learn about our solor system.

We also visited the Minnesota Zoo to learn about animal communities.

In January we went to the Mill City Museum to learn about the history of the Twin Cities.

Again in January we were able to visit the St. Paul Winter Carnival and see what was left of the ice sculptures after the melt down on Jan . 28th.
