| Welcome to Kindergarten! | | Kindergarteners are starting to look a little bit like first graders! They are working hard on learning new words and making and reading little books. They are also getting very good at writing the sounds they hear in words and can write a whole sentence. They are becoming independent learners!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Remember, we go outside every day for 15 minutes unless the temperature or wind chill are below zero. Please send snow pants, boots and mittens every day. Don't forget to send tennis shoes if your child is wearing boots to school!
----------------------------------------------------------------- Kindergarten 100 Days
On Wednesday, February 13, the Kindergarten will be celebrating the 100th day of school! We will be counting to 100, making projects, and reading and writing about 100. The Kindergarten children have been counting each day of school since September and made a number line to mark the passing of each day.
To further celebrate this event we are inviting the children and their parents from PE-K and Kindergarten to a Parent Night at Highwood Hills School. Watch your child's backpack for the date and time. The children will be able to work with their parent counting and making things that have a 100-day theme. We hope you will be able to join us for this exciting event.
-------------------------------------- Valentine’s Day
We will not be exchanging valentines in school, but we will make valentines for our families and talk about friendship and love within the family.
