Mrs. Stern's Second Grade

Welcome to second grade.  We are excited for a new year full of active learning and fun.  We will be using the Responsive Classroom philosophy to learn to work together by being caring, assertive, responsible, empathetic, and show self-control.  This year we will also be using a new version of  Everyday Math as our math curriculumn.  We will also explore our world through reading, reading, reading.

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at leah.stern@spps.org or call before or after school, or during specialist time at 1:45 - 2:35.

Helpers in our class:
Kris Heim (ELL) Ms. Heim comes to our class and works with us on our writing.

We will be having two volunteers from University of Wisconsin starting Oct. 9, 2007.

Ms. Shane - Pre-student teacher will be with us Oct. 29 - Dec.

Again, Welcome to Highwood Hills second grade!  An exciting place for learning!

Sincerely,
Leah Stern
